11/30/2009: This year's Skywarn Appreciation Event will take place from 6:00pm THIS Friday, 12/4/09 until 6:00pm THIS Saturday, 12/5/09. The event honors amateur radio operators for their support of Skywarn and the National Weather Service. The event is not a contest. It is simply a casual event for making contacts on a number of different modes.
The Missouri Voice over IP net will participate in the event. Plan on connecting your node into the *MISSOURI* conference server for all or part of the event to allow stations from across the region to talk with the Nation Weather Service offices around the state. We plan on starting up special Missouri Voice over IP net this Saturday morning at 9:30am. After we've taken check-ins from around the state; we're going to bridge the MISSOURI conference over to the national conference on the *WX_TALK* conference server for a national link between various weather service offices and those participating in the activity.
11/09/09: Skywarn Appreciation Day is December 5th. Cliff, KC0SDV, invites amateurs to visit the NWS office in Weldon Springs, MO. Also, in conjuction with this event, we will have a special session of the MO VoIP net on that morning. Please stay tuned for further details.

9/22/09: For those repeater and link nodes that wish to do so, we can configure the *MISSOURI* conference server to automatically connect to your node just before the net starts each Monday evening. You will still be able to disconnect in the same manner as before...but this allows you to not have to remember to connect up to the net each Monday. Contact us if you'd like to utilize this feature.
9/21/09: KCØNRO invites all link administrators (those of you who run a node on a simplex frequency) to leave your node connected to the *MISSOURI* conference server full-time if so desired. This will facilitate wide area communications on a full time basis.
9/14/09: NØUAM invites all interested parties to join in on the VoIP Weather net. This net meets weekly at 00:00Z Sunday (which is Saturday night 7pm Central during Daylight Savings, 6pm Central Standard) on the WX-TALK conference server. For more information, please visit http://www.voipwx.net/
